Healing Over Depression: Why We Need A Perspective Shift!
Let’s talk about healing journeys more than validating depression. A step we need to take in creating positive experiences!
Conversations around Depression are more common than ever! Especially on Social Media. Almost 40% of my feed is full of Depression related quotes and posts — about how having a certain feeling means you are Depressed. The idea behind this is — To normalise the experience of mental health challenges and allow people to feel less isolated. To Convey that they are not alone in this and most people are going through the same feeling. However, I often think that the aspect we’re missing in this is — healing!
We talk a lot about being depressed and how it makes us feel, but very little about the process of moving through it, about healing and transformation.
Maybe we need to shift our perspective! It’s not enough to validate depression- but about equally celebrating courage and profound growth that comes after healing.
