It’s World Environment Day! And I didn’t find a better day than today to write about Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Traveling. What else can a traveller write about? Especially when you come across statements like — “Tourism accounts for a significant portion of global carbon emissions!”
Imagine yourself standing on a beach with a view of turquoise water lapping at your feet. And suddenly a plastic water bottle washed ashore.
There is another scenario- you go on a trek to a deep green forest. And while you are admiring the beauty and breathing in fresh air, you spot discarded beer bottles lying all through the trek.
Sounds heartbreaking?!
These jarring experiences are reminders of what we, as tourists/travellers, are doing to the environment.
