Living The Dream Mountain Life In Dharamshala

My July was about leaving the city life and making the mountains my home for a few months.

Now and then, life nudges you to pause, breathe and reset. A year with the changes happening around, I needed a longer pause. So life put me in a place where my heart belongs- to the mountains.

July onset Monsoon in Northern India. Hence, the decision to move to the Mountains also came with the concerns of road accessibility, power cuts and landslides. So we narrowed down the places and decided to stay in Dharamshala — a quaint, small town, in the lap of the Himalayas.

If one thing I can tell you about living in the Mountains it is — that living in the Mountain is not just about breathtaking views (Though our Dharamshala house came with a view of the Himalayan ranges). It’s about embracing a slower, more intentional way of living. It’s about quiet mornings, mindful afternoons, and a night sky full of stars.

So if you’re planning to hit a pause button on life and dreaming to slow down, here’s why you should consider moving to the mountains-
