Your Intent Decides The Entire Value of Meditation
Why do you want to Meditate in the first place? I consider this question very important!
Some people want to meditate because they have a disturbed mind and they want a peaceful mind that lets them sleep at night, without any disturbance. But why not take sleeping pills for this? It will yield better results, in less time and without any effort.
Some people consider meditation as a kind of therapy, that helps them with Mental Wellness. But modern medicine works better in giving you a dopamine hit.
Some people Meditate to gain magical healing powers, feeding their egos. Meditation is just another tool to show off. In that case, you are already diverted towards immoral activities.
The question stands still!
Why Do We Meditate? And What Is The Purpose of Meditation?
To understand the Why, start with — What Is Meditation?
Right action, right intention, and right mindfulness together constitute the key elements of Meditation in Buddhism.
The Sanskrit word for meditation is Dharna and Bhavana. Dharna means to concentrate. Bhavana means to ponder, think upon and analyse.
